Does the BBAN format follow the format specified for this country?
The EISCD is updated weekly, and is available on a subscription basis from VocaLink. In particular cases where 00 is a valid check digit, 97 will not be a valid check digit, likewise if 01 is a valid check digit, 98 will not be a valid check digit, similarly with 02 and 99.
The British and Irish sort codes are only used for domestic money transfers. It is increasingly important that we are able to make automated payments smoothly and efficiently.
IBAN and BIC codes are widely used means of identifying bank account numbers, but not the only international system.
