Sorting code and BIC allocation
Members have ranges of sorting codes that they can allocate to bank offices. Subbranches have the same sorting code as the main bank office, but to uniquely identify them they have a two-digit suffix after the sorting code. The IBAN was originally developed to facilitate payments within the European Union but the format is flexible enough to be applied globally and has now been adopted by many Middle Eastern countries as well as most European countries. The simple search facility enables you to check bank sort codes, branch addresses, contact details and BIC codes, as well as identifying which banks and institutions accept faster payments.
Our database is searchable on sortcode or branch returning any available information.
It identifies both the bank, and the branch where the account is held.
