This guide provides details of the format of the Industry Sortcode Directory(ISCD) data that is publically known as a bank sortcode. The EISCD is updated weekly, and is available on a subscription basis from VocaLink. Banks' SWIFT and SORT CODES
To facilitate the efficient clearing and settlement of inter-bank payment instruments throughout the country, cheques and other debit payment instruments have been standardized to make them amendable to automated processing. The suffix is automatically allocated by Voca, and are numbered in sequence starting with 01 for the first subbranch.
