This standard was revised in 2003 and again in 2007 when it was split into two parts. The EISCD is updated weekly, and is available on a subscription basis from VocaLink. As part of these reforms, each bank branch has been given a unique 6-digit sort code, which identifies the Bank, location and branch number (and assigned to one of eleven clearinghouses operated by the Bank of Ghana).
The ISCD is maintained and supplied by third parties, on behalf of the banking industry, and the copyright is owned by APACS Administration Limited.
Sorting code and BIC allocation
Members have ranges of sorting codes that they can allocate to bank offices.
