To overcome these difficulties, the European Committee for Banking Standards (ECBS) developed the IBAN which was later adopted as an international standard under ISO 13616:1997. Database Samples
BinDB offers the Sort Code Database in SQL format by default, however we also offer free restructuring of the data as the client requests.
For example, sorting code 00-00-00 would represent the main bank office, and the first subbank office registered would have the suffix 01.
Many European countries use the IBAN as a means of identifying bank account numbers, but transfers to, amongst others, the United States and Australia make use of the BIC Codes. The suffix is automatically allocated by Voca, and are numbered in sequence starting with 01 for the first subbranch.
