Each branch or bank office on the ISCD is identified by either a sorting code, BIC (bank identifier code) or both. For a quick search the side bar contains the main search tool. ?? which acts as a one-stop-shop for the payments industry.
This standard was revised in 2003 and again in 2007 when it was split into two parts. As part of these reforms, each bank branch has been given a unique 6-digit sort code, which identifies the Bank, location and branch number (and assigned to one of eleven clearinghouses operated by the Bank of Ghana).
