The British and Irish sort codes are only used for domestic money transfers. Banks in Northern Ireland can be part of either the British or the Irish clearing system, depending on their country of registration. Fields Each branch or bank office on the ISCD is identified by either a sorting code, BIC (bank identifier code) or both. The EISCD is updated weekly, and is available on a subscription basis from VocaLink. The site contains over 500 banks with 26,000 sortcodes.
